Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is LET THE AISLES PROCLAIM the official book on Penang Free School?
This is the official book that commemorates the 200th anniversary of Penang Free School. It was launched by the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail at the PFS Bicentenary Dinner on 21st October 2016. It is the definitive book on the history of the Free School.

2. Who are the publishers of LET THE AISLES PROCLAIM?
The Penang Free School Foundation are the publishers.

3. Can I buy LET THE AISLES PROCLAIM from the bookshops?
The publishers are making arrangements for the book to be distributed through a few bookshops in Penang. The book can also be purchased from the office of The Old Frees' Association, 41 Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, 10050 George Town, Penang. The online sale of the book through this website is the third alternative.

4. Why are you unable to arrange delivery of the book overseas?
As the postage cost for overseas delivery is higher than the price of the book itself, it does not make good sense to post the book overseas. However, overseas purchases can still be accepted if the buyer can either (i) provide a local address for delivery, or (ii) pay for the cost of international postage.

5. How long will it take to deliver the book within Malaysia?
Delivery will depend very much on the efficiency of Pos Malaysia. However, it can be safely assumed to be around six or seven working days from the date that payment is received at the bank and the local address is provided by the purchaser.

6. Where will the proceeds of the sale of LET THE AISLES PROCLAIM go?
All proceeds of the sale of the book will go to the Penang Free School Bicentenary Scholarship Fund to support needy pupils.
