Rockwills campaign: Will For Charity

rockwills-logo.jpgRecently, I wrote about Rockwills Corporation’s tie-up with eight charitable organisations where, in conjunction with the company’s ‘Will for Charity’ campaign, people who write their wills with Rockwills and are looking to take up a noble cause can make a contribution to any of them.

According to a news item in last week’s The Malay Mail (24 Sep 2008), it’s only seven charitable organisations and they are the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Klang, Rumah Hope, Spastics Children’s Association of Selangor and Federal Territory, Ti-Ratana Welfare Society, and Women’s Aid Organisation.

In the story, Rockwills CEO Saw Leong Aun said that the will, being an instrument to spell out what loved ones should get, can also be an instrument to benefit a charitable cause.

“Alongside promoting the importance of wills and how it can make one’s wishes come true in terms of distribution of one’s estate, we also want to promote to testators that they can achieve a higher purpose by setting aside part of their estate for worthwhile causes. We want to do more in giving something back to society and our ‘Will for Charity’ campaign fits in well as a corporate social responsibility initiative,” he said.
