Snippets: don’t drink yourself out of a job

Here’s food – or drink – for thought. If you stay off alcoholic drinks, you may have better chances of getting more job offers or remaining in your job! A recent survey of 375 CEOs in the private sector showed that 206 of them would prefer to recruit teetotallers: people who do not drink. More than 55 percent of the CEOs favoured recruiting people at entry levels who avoid alcoholic beverages because teetotallers are seen as highly prolific, creative and fastidious in their work while those who drink are found to be casual and lethargic. Of course, there’s no scientific basis for their belief but still, it’s better to be on the safe side, right?
