Snippet: making use of head-hunters

Have you worked with a head-hunter before in your quest to find that elusive dream job? Here are some pointers on how to work with and maximise the services of a recruiter.

First, be aware that most head-hunters specialise in certain fields, so make sure that your specialisation matches their focus. Another thing to remember is that head-hunters usually only deal with job-seekers who are inclined towards a fairly straightforward career path (i.e., staying within the same industry), and not really interested in people making a drastic career change.  Third, do provide head-hunters with a ballpark figure on what kind of salary you desire, since most recruiters get their fees based on a certain percentage of your first year’s salary.
