Snippet: following up after the resume

So you have sent off your resume for a position you are highly interested in, but there has been no reply from the company for a considerable length of time. What should you do?

Well, you can choose to wait patiently, or you can take matters into your hands and try to do a follow-up with the employer.

A general rule of thumb is to wait for two weeks, and if there is still no word, you can either send an email or call. Ask about the next step in the recruiting process: whether the employer requires any additional information from you, or if there is a protocol to contact all potential candidates. Find that out and you will know where you stand in the general process.
