Hi, my name’s Quah Seng-Sun.

I am many things to many people but first of all, I am Husband to my wonderful wife, Saw See. We have shared our lives together since 1985, slowly maturing with an elder daughter Michelle and a younger son Jeremy.

Second, I am a certified Professional Resume Writer, working with JobStreet.com since 2001. I give talks to college and university students around Penang. In case you do not know about JobStreet.com, we are the only online recruitment company that is listed on the Mesdaq of Bursa Malaysia.

Third, even though I left the banking industry after 24 years in it, I still have my roots in the financial services. I still have my qualification from the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) and my areas of interest remain in Estate Planning and Investment.

Fourth, I am a chess player – have been one since schooldays when Bobby Fischer was King and this is decades ago – and one of only a handful of Malaysians registered as international chess arbiters with the World Chess Federation.

And fifth, I do quite a lot of writing. I used to write about chess in The Star and my chess column in this newspaper appeared regularly from Aug 1980. until Feb 2007 I’ve also co-authored a book on chess for the local market but it is mostly out of print by now. You’ll be hard pressed to find a copy in the bookstores. Maybe one day, I’ll come out with a second edition.

So this is me, okay? This blog will not attempt to cover much on chess but instead, I’ll write more about careers, estate planning, investments and whatever else that comes to my mind. I guess old habits die hard. Enjoy!
