Rockwills’ hearing

This just in … a follow-up news item in today’s New Straits Times. Again, I’m reproducing it verbatim:

Rockwills

KUALA LUMPUR: Rockwills Corporation Sdn Bhd, a company which writes wills and trusts, applied to the High Court yesterday for permission to use information and documents seized from a rival company, to lodge reports.

In her chambers, Judge Datuk Siti Mariah Ahmad postponed to July 3 hearing of the application because the defendants, OSK Trustees Bhd and its director Ong Eu Jin, want to file an affidavit in reply.

Rockwills wants to use evidence obtained from an “Anton Piller Order” to lodge reports with the relevant law enforcement agencies to carry out investigation and prosecution.

The “Anton Piller Order” is commonly used in cases where the copyright of video films or tapes or computer software is alleged to have been infringed.

It gives the applicant the power to search a person or a company’s premises to inspect and take away material evidence in a particular case.
Rockwills executed the order against OSK on Jan 8.

Siti Mariah also heard an application by Rockwills for an inter parte injunction to restrain OSK and its agents from using Rockwills’ presentation slides to promote their services.

Siti Mariah further heard OSK’s application to set aside Rockwills’ ex parte “Anton Piller Order” dated Jan 5 this year.

She adjourned further hearing to June 20.

Rockwills was represented by Mathew Thomas Philip, while Helena Abu Bakar appeared for OSK.

On March 8 this year, Rockwills initiated contempt proceedings in the High Court against OSK and Ong.
